Health-tracking ring maker Oura launched Oura Ring 4 Ceramic, its newest ring offering.
Oura is expanding its preventative health initiative by pairing cardiometabolic blood biomarkers with continuous insights of the Ring.
With a price tag of $99, "members can link 50 biomarkers to their daily patterns in sleep, readiness and activity, easily re-testing at a cadence aligned to their health goals."
The new integration builds on the data Oura currently collects with Dexcom's Stelo Glucose Biosensor, which shows members how nutrition, exercise and stress impact long-term health.
A new multi-ring-support software feature allows members to connect multiple Oura Ring devices to a single account and switch between them.
Health Panels is a new offering that will permit members to schedule and view the results of their lab tests in the Oura App.
Quest Diagnostics supports Oura through a platform that enables Quest results to be displayed within the Oura App. The platform allows Oura members to schedule their labs in-app.
By entering a ZIP code, Oura members can arrange a blood draw at a Quest Lab location nationwide.
"Today’s announcements mark a significant leap forward in empowering our members to take charge of their well-being," Tom Hale, CEO for Oura, said in a statement.
"With new in-app Health Panels, members receive guidance tailored to their unique biomarker trends and daily patterns."
Holly Shelton, chief product officer for Oura, said that health panels represent the next step in the company's evolution from a consumer wearable to a comprehensive health management platform.
"By connecting results from Quest’s clinical lab testing with the continuous insights from Oura Ring, we are moving beyond tracking to truly enabling proactive health management," Shelton said.
THE LARGER TREND
In September, it was reported that Oura was on track to become an $11 billion company.
According to news outlets, the company was in the process of raising a $875 million Series E funding round, which would bring its value to $10.9 billion, doubling its $5 billion valuation from the Series D funding round.
The company also announced that Oura Ring sales had surpassed 5.5 million since the product was first offered in 2015.
It also reported revenue of more than $500 million in 2024, double that of the prior year. In a release, Oura stated it was on track to double its revenue this year, reaching $1 billion in sales.
In August, Oura opened a manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, to support its largest enterprise customer, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), bolster its global footprint and "enhance agility and specialization" to meet the needs of the DoD.
The DoD and Oura formed a partnership in 2019 to "enhance human performance across all branches of the armed services," the company said in a statement.
The company said its Oura Ring is advancing defense operations in the areas of stress management, resilience training, fitness optimization, fatigue risk management and early illness detection.
The Texas facility aims to fulfill defense contracts and feature enhanced security measures, innovative production practices and advanced automation. It is scheduled to open in 2026.
Oura also launched two new products in August designed to support women through crucial life stages.
Pregnancy Insights offers individualized and "contextualized tracking" of physiological changes, instructive educational content and daily tools to help women navigate each phase of pregnancy.
Perimenopause Check-In allows members to track their symptoms and understand their impact.
The company said the offering also helps members by utilizing a combination of self-assessment, health data visualization and in-app care pathways.
In 2024, Oura closed a $200 million Series D funding round led by Fidelity Management & Research Company and Dexcom. The investment raised the company’s valuation to $5.2 billion.
Also last year, Dexcom made a $75 million strategic investment in Oura and established a strategic partnership to enable two-way data flow between Dexcom's continuous glucose monitor and the Oura Ring.
Through the partnership, users of both Oura and Dexcom's products have access to glucose data from Dexcom glucose biosensors and sleep, heart health, stress, vital-sign and activity data from the Oura Ring available on Dexcom's app and Oura's app.
The companies said the data allows users to track their glucose levels and understand how their behavior and biology affect their metabolic health. The partners said they will also co-market and sell each other's products.
